The SOS Children's Village Aboisso is situated on a hilltop, at the edge of the city. The terrain covers 14 hectares and borders directly on the virgin forest. The pastel-coloured houses of the Children's Village are arranged in a large oval, in the midst of which there are five straw huts and a small open air theatre. The SOS Children's Village of Aboisso has 10 family houses, an administrative building, a village store and an infirmary. A doctor comes regularly to the Village to give treatment or for control visits.
The SOS Kindergarten - which was planned for 150 children - and the SOS Primary School - which opened in 1994 - are also attended by children from the neighbourhood and the city. For the elder youths a Youth Counselling Department was established. In addition, an agricultural project was started in the SOS Children's Village Aboisso. It specializes in sheep-farming, apiculture, coffee and palm plantation.
