Country information
The SOS Children's Village Asiakwa was built on a hill in very beautiful, hilly country-side. Its architecture was adapted from traditional local styles. The SOS Children's Village consists of 6 family houses, the Village Director's house, a guest-house, a Community Centre, a clinic, a SOS Kindergarten (for 40 children), a 6-form primary school (for 150 children), a small farm, workshops for the youngsters, and a stopping place for motorists.

As the SOS Children's Village is not connected up to the public electricity supply, a small generator was installed. The continual supply of water is ensured by a water tower and a water pump. Besides attending one out of four mission schools in Asiakwa, SOS children may also attend the Secondary School which was opened in 1997.
