The SOS Children's Village Barrett Town is about half an hour's drive from the Montego Bay Town centre, in the direction to Ocho Rios, and is within close proximity to the local airport and hotels. In addition to the family houses and the standard community facilities of an SOS Children's Village, the SOS Children's Village Barrett Town consists of the SOS Jane Veira Kinder-Prep School, an SOS Youth Facility for girls, an SOS Training Facility, which also doubles as a Guest House and accommodation for staff.

There is also a Youth Facility for boys, which is located in Montego Bay outside the Village Facilities. Currently, the SOS Jane Veira Kinder-Prep School supports approximately 80 children from the SOS Children's Village and from the vicinity in the 4 classrooms. However, in the future, the school will accommodate approximately 120 children aged from 3 to 12 in 6 classrooms. The objective of the School is to offer an excellent educational service and promote the integration of the SOS Children's Village and its facilities in the local community. The SOS Jane Veira Kinder-Prep School offers extra-curricular activities such as speech and drama, sports and computing.
