The fourth Colombian SOS Children's Village is located in the province of Santander in the city of Floridablanca near the Venezuelan border. The capital of the province, Bucaramanga, is situated just 2 kms to the north of Floridablanca. The corner-stone of this SOS Children's Village was laid in September 1998. The SOS Children's Village Bucaramanga is surrounded by virgin landscapes and is situated in the neighbourhood of little farms. As the province's capital, Bucaramanga, is not very far away from the SOS Children's Village of the same name, the region will certainly meet with a steady development and a continuos integration in urban structures in the years to come. The climate is typical of tropical regions and very hot, the people living in the area are commonly known as hospitable, like to take the initiative and are always willing to help.
The SOS Children's Village was erected on a site of 18.000 sq. metres located in a distance of about 600 ms from the highway and can therefore be easily reached by car. The next international airport lies in about 20 kms distance. The SOS Children's Village Bucaramanga comprises 12 family houses and an SOS Kindergarten with 3 class-rooms and 2 offices.
