Our activities

Negotiations between SOS Children's Villages and government authorities had been going on for years when in early 2002 groundbreaking decisions were finally taken. Construction works on the first SOS Children's Village in Chad are expected to commence soon.

The situation of a lot of children in Chad is alarming; childcare services are urgently needed. In early February the country's prime minister agreed to ratify an agreement between SOS Children's Villages International and the Chadian government, with a proper plot of land set aside already. Construction works on the SOS Children's Village will presumably start by early 2003.
