The SOS Children's Village of Eldoret consists of 12 family houses, four houses for the personnel, an administrative building (containing a large room which is used as a first-aid station), a multi-purpose building (workshops, a crafts centre, a laundry and a SOS-shop) and a kindergarten which is also open to the children from the neighbourhood. Since 1989 a SOS Elementary school has been in existence. It had to be enlarged in 1990 because it is much sought after and popular.
