In addition to the family houses and the standard community facilities of an SOS Children's Village, the SOS Children's Village Estelí consists of an SOS Kindergarten, an SOS Training Centre for SOS mothers and co-workers, an SOS Youth Facility, an SOS Primary School and an SOS Secondary School. There is also an SOS Vocational Training Centre where the young people can obtain skills in carpentry, tailoring, design, computers, office administration and farming.
In the course of the years, two SOS Social Centres have been set up, which both run SOS Day Care Centres, in order to improve the situation of the local people. There, about 300 children of single mothers from the vicinity are taken care of while their mothers work.
An SOS Vocational Training Centre for Women, which offers vocational training for single mothers and young girls, is affiliated to the SOS Children's Village. Among others, it offers courses in tailoring, pastry making and baking. Maize, beans, vegetables and fruit are grown on a small farm, which meets most of the SOS Children's Village demand. A small animal farm is also run by the inhabitants of the SOS Children's Village.
