Galle
The foundation stone for the SOS Children's Village Galle was laid on 26 March 1988. The SOS Children's Village was completed early in 1990 after enormous difficulties and delays due to the unrest in the country. Galle, which is located at a distance of about 160 km from Colombo, has become the biggest town in the south of the island.
         
         
  Daegu The foundation stone of the SOS Children's Village Daegu was laid in 1963. Construction was finished in 1965.

Ben Tre The foundation stone of the SOS Children's Village Ben Tre was laid in October 1997; the official inauguration took place in December 1999.

Viet Tri The foundation stone of the SOS Children's Village Viet Tri was laid in 1997. The first children moved into the new SOS Children's Village in 1999.

The foundation stone for the SOS Children's Village Galle was laid on 26 March 1988. The SOS Children's Village was completed early in 1990 after enormous difficulties and delays due to the unrest in the country. Galle, which is located at a distance of about 160 km from Colombo, has become the biggest town in the south of the island. The SOS Children's Village is situated 4.5 km from Galle and consists of 12 family houses, which were constructed in 2 rows on a hilly site. They are made of pink natural stone and look very well in the tropical landscape with its lush vegetation.

There is an SOS Kindergarten and an SOS Social Centre, which are both open to the people from the neighbourhood. An SOS Youth House for boys was built in 1993, with the first boys moving in in the following year. An SOS Youth Facility for girls was established a few years later. Older girls who are studying or doing vocational training can prepare for their independent lives there. Near the SOS Children's Village, there are several schools, a hospital and a market.
