Goioerê is a small provincial capital in the Federal State of Paraná, which is the southern neighbour of São Paulo. The SOS Children's Village Goioerê is located about 2 kilometres outside the city, in a rural area. It consists of 11 family houses and the Community House. The SOS Kindergarten is also open to the children of the neighbourhood. School-age children attend the local public schools in the city. There is also an SOS Youth House and a Girls' Residence in the SOS Children's Village, where the grown-up boys and girls live during the time of their vocational training or education.
A considerable part of the property of about 5 hectares is used for agriculture. The crops - cotton, soybeans, bananas, coffee and citrus fruit - are used for the SOS Children's Village's own requirements. Many of the young people make use of the possibility of working in agriculture.
