The SOS Children's Village Huancayo is located in Sicaya, about 300 km east of the Peruvian capital Lima and about 7 km northwest of the city of Huancayo, capital of the province of the same name. The cornerstone of the SOS Children's Village Huancayo was laid on 5 December 1997 and the SOS Children's Village was officially inaugurated on 6 March 2001. The SOS Children's Village Huancayo is situated in 3250 m above sea level, the climate of this region is temperate. The SOS Children's Village Huancayo is situated on a site of 24615 mē and comprises 12 family houses, a Village Director's house, an administration building, a house for SOS aunts, the house of the craftsman of the SOS Children's Village, a multipurpose hall, sports facilities and a little vegetable garden. The SOS Social Centre is also open to the neighbourhood. Next to the SOS Children's Village there is the Medical Centre of the city of Sicaya as well as a public primary and secondary school. Towards the west, the SOS Children's Village Huancayo offers a beautiful view of fields and a wooded area.
