In 2002 the total income of SOS Children's Villages UK rose by 25% to £1.58 million, thanks to the continued generous support of many individuals and organisations. Voluntary income rose by 31%. This includes the tax the charity is able to reclaim through Gift Aid, which increase the value of individual donations by 28%. The costs of management and administration stayed on the same level as 2001 - 3.5% of all expenditure. Investment in future income, fundraising and publicity was 18% of expenditure.
