Collaboration with governments, UN agencies and NGOs has proven successful when providing emergency assistance. Feeding and nutrition programmes were carried out with the UN World Food Programme (WFP) in Malawi and Angola. |

The SOS Clinic in Somalia operated during the civil war with the support of ECHO, Caritas and UNICEF, and continues to work with these partners. UNICEF and the Red Cross teamed up with SOS Children's Villages Sudan to provide nutrition centres and medical training.
OXFAM worked with SOS Children's Villages Honduras to provide temporary shelter for victims of Hurricane Mitch. UNHCR co-operated in the repatriation of East Timor refugee children from Indonesia. UNICEF, UNHCR and Save the Children partnered SOS Children's Villages Rwanda in reuniting families and treating war-traumatised children.
The most recent example is the emergency assistance programme being run by SOS Pakistan to support Afghan refugee women and children. This includes: providing basic educational material and hiring teachers in collaboration with UNICEF, assisting WFP, implementing food distribution measures, setting up facilities for unaccompanied children and temporary medical centres supported by UNHCR and the government.
