Brazil's 11th SOS Children's Village is located in the city of Juiz de Fora, in the Federal State of Minas Gerais. Juiz de Fora is situated about 100 kilometres north of Rio de Janeiro. With its 400.000 inhabitants the city is an important economic and industrial centre.

The SOS Children's Village Juiz de Fora was built in 1982 on a 1,5 hectares site in the suburb of Grama about 10 kilometres from the city centre. It comprises 10 family houses, an administrative building and a Community Centre. There are also an SOS Social Centre, an SOS School and two SOS Youth Residences at the SOS Children's Village. In these two SOS Youth Residences the young people from the SOS Children's Village stay during their vocational training or higher education in order to prepare them to an independent life. A public school as well as shops and a church are nearby.
