The SOS youth Facility accommodates SOS youths who are gradually learning to become independent. The SOS School is composed of 16 classes. It has a library and a canteen. A total of 490 students get education at the HGS. The SOS Medical Centre consists of seven treatment rooms (plus affiliated rooms) in which medical treatment is given to people from all over the place. The maximum capacity of the SOS Medical Centre is 7000 patients a year. The construction of the SOS Children's Village and its ancillary facilities together with the construction of a new market place boosted the local economy. This was particularly gratifying to witness since the local infrastructure had been heavily damaged during the civil war.
