The SOS Children's Village Kfarhay fits perfectly into the architectonic traditions of its surroundings. It comprises 10 family houses, an administrative building, a kindergarten, a sick-ward, workshops and a HG-Social Centre. Sports grounds, orchards, vineyards and some fields were also laid out. There are schooling facilities in Kfarhay itself as well as in the nearby town of Batroun. Although the people living in the surrounding rural area adhere to different religions (Maronites, Schiites, Sunnites, Orthodox, etc.) they kept on cherishing their old tradition of coexisting peacefully with their neighbours even in times of trouble.
