The third Hungarian SOS Children's Village was constructed in 1991 in Köszeg near the Austrian border, within easy distance from the border crossing at Köszeg-Rattersdorf. This small but ancient town enjoys a good infrastructure consisting of a hospital, a polyclinic, a primary school and a secondary school. Opportunities for further education and for employment exist in Szombathely, which is the nearest urban centre (about 1/2 hr. by bus). The SOS Children's Village consists of 12 family houses, an SOS Kindergarten, sports fields and a vegetable patch for each family.
