The SOS Children's Village Kraljevo is built on the outskirts of the Middle Serbian town of Kraljevo. Kraljevo has about 70.000 inhabitants and is situated at a distance of approx. 170 km south of Belgrade. Kraljevo means "king's town"; the city was given its name because of the nearby monastery where the Serbian kings were crowned in former times. The immediate neighbourhood of the SOS Children's Village Kraljevo consists of a middle class residential area and the sports ground of the local football club.
The SOS Children's Village Kraljevo will comprise 12 family houses, houses for the village director and the aunts, a multi purpose building, a workshop and an administrative building. The children will attend the local primary school, which is only a few hundred meters away, and the local secondary schools in town.
