The SOS Children's Village Lekenik is situated in Lekenik, a rural community of about 2,000 inhabitants, 30 km southeast of Zagreb. There is a medical doctor in the village as well as a chemist, a school and shops.

The SOS Children's Village is located on the outskirts of the village, next to a school which includes a primary and a secondary school. In the SOS Children's Village there are altogether 15 family houses, an administrative building and apartments for the staff. In August 1996, an SOS Social Centre and an SOS Kindergarten was opened and the children of the vicinity have also the possibility to attend this SOS Kindergarten. The nearby sports field can also be used by the children from the SOS Children's Village. In 2002 the SOS Social Centre was remodelled and integrated into the SOS Children's Village Lekenik. It is now a leisure centre for the children from the SOS Children's Village as well as for children from the neighbourhood.
