The SOS Children's Village Lipa is situated at Banay-Banay, a suburb of Lipa City. Lipa is about 150 km from the capital, Manila, on the island of Luzon. The SOS Children's Village Lipa, which is located in an orange grove, consists of nine family houses, the Village Director's house, and a community house. The younger children are looked after at the SOS Kindergarten, which is also open to children from the neighbourhood. In September 1989, an SOS Social Centre was opened. The aim of this SOS Social Centre is to relieve the burden of working mothers by taking care of their children during the day. The children also receive meals at the day-care centre. There is an SOS Youth House, which is located closer to the city of Lipa and only a few minutes by car from the SOS Children's Village. It has an open inner courtyard and was built for 30 teenagers. Older boys from the SOS Children's Village usually move to the SOS Youth House, where they can prepare for their independent lives while they are still at school, college or university, or doing vocational training. In 1989, a home for retired SOS mothers was established in Lipa.
