Our Facilities
In 1995, SOS-Kinderdorf International decided to build an SOS Children's Village in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. In 1998, an appropriate building site was bought in a suburb of the capital city Skopje and on 14 April 1999, the corner stone of the first Macedonian SOS Children's Village was laid in the presence of representatives of the government as well as of officials of the orthodox and Islamic community. In July 2000, training of future SOS mothers was begun in order to prepare these women to their new and challenging task. In mid-December 2000, the construction of the SOS Children's Village Skopje was finished.
