The SOS Children's Village consists of 12 family houses, the Village Director's house and a Community Centre. There is an elementary school nearby, and secondary schools can easily be reached by bus. The SOS Kindergarten is also attended by the children of the surrounding area. In the immediate vicinity of the SOS Children's Village, there is an SOS Vocational Training Centre with a sewing room and an embroidery workshop, a joiner's workshop, an electrician's and a mechanic's workshop, as well as a printing shop. Teenagers, who do not attend high school, obtain vocational training here according to their abilities.
In 1986, the "Joaquín y Gertrudis Hermann School" was put in operation. This SOS School is run as an elementary school and offers education to about 350 students. The school also runs a few vocational training classes and special classes for retarded children. It is the very first school of this type in Bolivia.
