The SOS Children's Village is situated in a residential area which is composed of houses with gardens as well as of publicly financed flats and consists of nine SOS family houses and a community centre for social activities. The SOS Children's Village is situated in a residential area which is composed of houses with gardens as well as of publicly financed flats and consists of nine SOS family houses and a community centre for social activities. Its construction was started in 1964 and in January 1966, the first families moved to their new homes. Next to the SOS Children's Village Marange-Silvange there are public schools and various sports' facilities attended by the about 50 SOS children.
