The SOS Children's Village Minsk in situated in the small town of Borovljany. The children attend the kindergarten and schools in the nearby town of Lesnoj. The SOS Children's Village is situated in a rural area and is neighboured by many farmhouses and hostels for the staff of the numerous clinics, located in the vicinity of the Village. There is a regular bus connection between Borovljany and Minsk.

Up to 100 children will find a new home in the 13 family houses of the SOS Children's Village Minsk, which also comprises some administrative buildings. At the SOS Social Centre around 360 children accompanied by their parents will each year receive treatment for the long-term effects of their exposure to radiation.
