The SOS Children's Village Muyinga is located 4,5 km from the capital of the province of Muyinga on the top of a hill called Mukoni. In the neighbourhood of the SOS Children's Village only a few farmers have settled down. Muyinga has a hospital, a market, a grammar school and a small airport. The SOS Children's Village can be reached by car via Ngozi. It comprises 15 family houses, a house for the Village Director, an administrative building, a sick-ward, a workshop and sports grounds. An SOS Kindergarten, an SOS Youth Facility and an SOS-Hermann-Gmeiner Primary School have been annexed to the SOS Children's Village, too.
