The SOS Children's Village consists of the family houses, the Village Director's house, a community house with a multi-purpose hall, a village shop and an infirmary. The adjoining SOS Kindergarten was closed in 1997, when a new law stipulated free access to public kindergartens in Panama. Now the SOS children can attend public kindergartens and there is no more need for an SOS Kindergarten. An SOS Youth Village has also been set up where the older children can prepare for their independent lives and obtain vocational training in the different workshops. In addition to that, there is also an SOS Training Centre for SOS mothers and co-workers. There, future SOS mothers for all of the SOS Children's Villages in the country are trained and prepared for their work.
