The town of Plaisir has approx. 31,000 inhabitants, the SOS Children's Village of the same name was built in 1987 and consists of ten family houses offering a new home to approx. 50 children. A community centre and the house of the Village Director are also part of the vast terrain planted with numerous trees, the houses being arranged in groups of two to three buildings. After school, the children participate in numerous sports' and leisure time activities which promote their personal development as well as their integration in the neighbourhood.
