The second SOS Children's Village in Uruguay was built on a 2,7 hectares site, 7 km from the city of Salto and comprises 11 family houses, as well as several additional buildings.

The Community House and the SOS Kindergarten, which is also open to the children of the neighbourhood, are located in a large building. This house was already on the property before the SOS Children's Village was built. There is an elementary school in the immediate vicinity, and secondary schools can be easily reached by bus.

The SOS Children's Village also runs a citrus fruit plantation and cultivates fruit and vegetables for the SOS Children's Village's own use. Daily meals are handed out to the poor children of the neighbourhood. An SOS Youth Home where the young people live during the time of their vocational training was built in the city centre.
