The second Haitian SOS Children's Village Santo (The name comes from a former sugar cane plantation from colonial days) is located at a distance of about 15 km from the capital of Port-au-Prince, on the road to the Dominican Republic. It has been set up on a 9 hectare building site and comprises the family houses, the house of the Village Director, a Community House with various multi-purpose rooms, an infirmary, an SOS Kindergarten and an SOS Primary and Secondary School. The population from the neighbourhood also makes considerable use of the SOS social welfare facilities. The School and the SOS Kindergarten are attended by the children from the surrounding area. All family houses have their own garden, and about 4 hectares of the property are used for agricultural purposes.
