The town of Siedlce is situated on the motorway Warsaw-Moscow in Western Poland near the Belarussian border and about 90 km from Poland's capital Warsaw. Siedlce can easily be reached by train from Warsaw. The SOS Children's Village Siedlce was built on a four hectares site and is surrounded by forests. The corner-stone of the third Polish Children's Village was laid on 1st June, 1996; two years later, in September 1998, the first families moved in. The surroundings of the SOS Children's Village are not yet densely populated, and right next to the SOS Children's Village, there is the Children's House of the so-called ?Zamosc-Foundation', a very important social institution in Poland. The SOS Children's Village consists of 12 family houses, the director's house, administrative buildings, a multipurpose hall, an infirmary and sport facilities. A primary school is located at a distance of about 1 km from the SOS Children's Village.
