Country information
Construction of the SOS Children's Village Tela started one year after inundations had caused tremendous damages in the North of the country. The family houses, the community house and the SOS Kindergarten were first inaugurated on the 8,16 hectare building site, the rest took longer to complete.

Today, the SOS Children's Village Tela includes an SOS Primary School which is also attended by the children from the vicinity, an SOS Scondary School which is frequently attended by youngsters from other SOS Children's Villages of the country, an SOS Youth Facility (the older children move there in order to prepare for independent life) and an SOS Vocational Training Centre. There is also a farm which meets most of the SOS Children's Village's demand. Young people from the SOS Children's Villages who like farming can find a work there. The young ladies can attend a two-year-educational training at the SOS School for Nurses.
