The SOS Children's Village Valle de Ángeles is a home for seriously mentally and physically challenged children. It is located at a distance of 25 km from the capital of Tegucigalpa in an agricultural region. The whole SOS Children's Village has been specially adapted with ramps, railings, suitable furniture etc., in order to provide the children with as much mobility as possible. A special school, a clinic and rooms for physiotherapy, occupational therapy and relaxation have also been established. The adjoining SOS Youth Facility offers workshops for pottery, arts and crafts. There is also a laundry and a store. A private hospital is in the vicinity of the SOS Children's Village, as well as two primary schools, a secondary school and several workshops, e.g. a pottery and a leather workshop.
